I found these pictures on the internet. They just might be pictures of the very first WFTL which was on in the early 1940’s. Here is some information from the site where they originally appeared.
The pictures came from an in-house news magazine that Western Electric used to distribute to their employees and customers. It was called "Pickups." I'm not sure of the exact date of the pictures in question, but most of the issues I have are from 1938 until the start of WW II. They were given to me a long time ago by an old friend who is no longer with us. He was a longtime Western Electric engineer, ham radio operator and all around interesting guy. I think he's be happy that someone else values some of the same things he though were interesting and worth saving. The magazines are in amazingly good condition.
